I am a native of north Louisiana that graduated from Samford University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development/ Family Studies. I graduated from Georgia State University in 1998 with a master's degree in Community Counseling. I received a diploma in Christian Counseling from the Psychological Studies Institute in 1998 as well. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the Alabama Counseling Association (ALCA). I worked as a mental health counselor before becoming a school counselor in 1999. I am married to Denise Carter Pettey and we have two sons, Carter and Cade. I enjoy playing golf and attending LSU (my team) and Auburn (my wife's team) football games.
