Anthony Thompson,  Principal

Greetings,

My name is Anthony Thompson.  I am married to my wonderful wife, Katie.  We have two children, Allie (8th grade) and Benjamin (4th grade).  I will treat your children as if they are my own.  I began my career in education in 1999 at Monrovia Elementary School teaching 4th graders and moved to Endeavor Elementary School to continue teaching 4th graders.  In 2005, I moved to Monrovia Middle School where I taught 6th graders and eventually transitioned to being an assistant principal with the last three years serving as principal.  I am excited to return to my elementary roots and serve the children, teachers, and parents of Legacy Elementary School.

Legacy Elementary School will be the safest, most caring, and productive learning environment in which our children will achieve their goals.  Our faculty and staff are committed to the safety and success of all LES children.  Our standard is excellence in all things as we prepare our Lions to Lead…Explore…Succeed...Outside the Boundaries of LES.

The core beliefs that apply to every child, parent, teacher, and community member that I come in contact with are: 1) I love you; 2) I will not intentionally lie to you, 3) We are in this together, and 4) We own our choices.  Together, we will work to prepare our children for their future, one child, one day at a time.

I look forward to a fantastic remainder of the 2018-2019 school year and many more years to come.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Greetings! My name is Wynnetta Ford, your assistant principal.  I am elated to be a part of the Legacy family.  I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students, families, and the Legacy community.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University.  My teaching career began at Monrovia Elementary School as a second grade teacher. A few years later, I transferred to Endeavor Elementary School.  While teaching at Endeavor, I obtained a M.A. in Elementary Education from Alabama A & M University and a degree in Instructional Leadership from Samford University.

My educational career has afforded me the opportunity to be a leader in various capacities. I have also had the opportunity to be a mentor and sponsor for different school clubs and organizations.

My goal is to assist in the continued development of student achievement. I believe that ALL students can learn and become productive leaders NOW and in the FUTURE.
