My name is Kasia Dukes and I am excited to be your child’s first grade teacher. I was born and raised in Poznan, Poland. I moved to the United States at the age of 19. While working and studying English I met my husband Kelby. Ten years ago, we moved to Huntsville from Marietta, Georgia. We fell in love with the Harvest area and cannot imagine living anywhere else. We have a beautiful five year old boy named Mateo who is starting Kindergarten this year, and a precious two year old girl, Ellyana. Other members of my family include two dogs: a Basset Hound named Ela, and a Coonhound/Lab mix named Teddy.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and cross fit.
I am a graduate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. This is my fifth year teaching at Legacy Elementary. I chose teaching as a career because I want to share my experiences and give back to the community and country that has given me so many opportunities to succeed. With my rich culture and perspectives I believe that I can contribute great things to my lessons. Teaching is my passion, and I absolutely love what I do! I am excited about this upcoming school year and I look forward to this adventure. Let’s have a wonderful year!
