Hello! My name is Michelle Choate and I am Legacy’s Reading Coach.
I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama and am entering my twenty-third year in education. I taught second grade for six years in Florence and fourth grade for thirteen years at Madison Cross Roads before moving to Legacy as Reading Coach in 2013.
My role at Legacy is to assist our administration and teachers in targeting, creating, and working towards instructional goals in all areas of the curriculum. I also provide professional development opportunities as well as support our school’s intervention efforts for at risk learners.
My job is an exciting one because I get to interact daily with some of the greatest students, teachers and administration in the world on a daily basis. Legacy is a unique and wonderful learning environment and I am honored to be a part of the mission and vision of such an outstanding school!
When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family, photography, gardening, writing, historical reading, and taking care of my four-footed baby – Howie.
If I can ever be of any assistance to you, please contact me.
